Postmark Errors & Surcharge - Actress Mabel Terry Lewis, c.1904 - Faulkner RPPC

Actress Mabel Terry Lewis, c.1904
Actress Mabel Terry Lewis, c.1904

Hand-tinted sepia real photographic postcard with glitter showing the renowned actress Miss Mabel Terry Lewis, niece of actress Ellen Terry and aunt of actor John Gielgud. The card was possibly sent by a cousin of the actress (see message). The card has a 1d "contrary to regulations" surcharge postmark with post office number 815 for Camborne, presumably due to the glitter on the surface of the card. The word 'contrary' is written and initialled alongside. In addition to this the double Camborne cancellations appear to be missing the year, but have what appears to be an italic N or a backwards number 4, or some similar symbol to the left of where the year should be. Both cancellations feature the same mark. Other postcards from this same collection suggest a 1904 date.
